A new generation of 5-Axis Machine Tool Metrology
IBS Precision Engineering has been working with KMWE Group on an Industry 4.0 solution which delivers a clear and traceable quality statement of the machine tools in your factory. The Rotary Inspector is a smart tool following ISO-standardised measurement and generating KPIs defining the geometric and dynamic performance of the machine. Information is provided at a group, cell or factory level, in an auditable manner and real time.

Displacement sensors - High performance targeted for embedded solutions
Lion Precision capacitive systems are renowned for their outstanding performance in non-contact displacement applications; with resolutions down to 50 picometers and bandwidths to 100kHz, they offer best in class linearity and temperature stability. In-line detection, cleaning & repair of photovoltaic thin films
ALD offers much promise for barrier films in applications ranging from PV to food packaging. Defects can occur at a number of different stages in the manufacturing of such thin film barriers. NanoMend has successfully developed multiple technology systems that address the measurement, identification and control of defects in-line.

Wireless Smart Sensors for real time stage control
IBS has successfully demonstrated wireless sensing in closed loop control for high precision contactless stages. Delivered in collaboration with MI-Partners, wireless smart sensors have been implemented on a high precision Maglev stage to enable real time control. Applications for in-vacuo high precision stages, such as e-beam measurement systems or EUV wafer scanners, stand to benefit from these developments; where disturbing forces from cables and/or potential problems with contamination can be avoided.
